Tip

Display

  • Brightness slider

    • Adjust screen brightness.
  • Timeout

    • When USB is not connected, the device will automatically shut down after the set time.
    • When USB is connected, the screen will automatically lock after the set time.

Connectivity

  • USB Mode
    • When enabled, the device switches to USB mode, allowing access to internal storage via USB.
    • Note: Do not enable this mode while reading files (e.g., reloading database, upgrading firmware).
    • In USB mode, other USB-related functions will be temporarily unavailable.
  • Trust Browser
    • When enabled, paired browser extensions can request data without showing a confirmation prompt.
  • NIC IP
    • Set the network card IP address in the format 172.16.8.1. Reboot to apply.
  • Browser Extension Pairing Reset
    • Click to clear all paired browser extensions.
  • Keyboard Mode
    1. Compatible Mode
      • No need to toggle case; best compatibility. If input is abnormal in Enhanced mode, switch to this mode.
    2. Enhanced Mode
      • No need to toggle case or switch input methods; more efficient input.
    3. Chinese (Experimental)
      • Supports Chinese input (feature still in testing).
  • Newline Character
    • In the password list, long-press an entry to auto-enter username (separated by newline) and password.
  • Enter After Password
    • When quickly entering password by long-pressing an entry, add an Enter key for auto-login.
  • Transfer via QR Code
    • When enabled, long-press data in an entry to generate a corresponding QR code. If disabled, the generated QR code will always display "MeXkey3".
  • Transfer via NFC
    • When enabled, long-press data in an entry to write to an NFC tag. Requires the "BT+NFC" function of Chameleon devices.

System

  • Reload Database
    • Click to reload kdbx and csv files.
  • Battery Save
    • When enabled, prevents overcharging and extends battery life.
  • Timezone
    • Click to set the device timezone. Default is 0800 (UTC+8). Format: +0800 or -0930 (first two digits are hours, last two are minutes).
  • Set Time Time Sync Guide
    • Click to manually set the device time. Format: 20250730171212 (14 digits: YYYYMMDDHHMMSS).
  • Auto Time Offset
    • When enabled, automatically corrects time drift, but may increase error.
  • Language
    • Reboot to apply after setting.

Security

  • MeXkey Mode
    • Switch the mode for next boot. Reboot to apply.
  • Emergency Mode Wait
    • Waiting time (in hours) before entering emergency mode from normal mode. Default is 48 hours.
  • Change PIN
    • After verifying the current PIN, you can set a new PIN for the current mode.
  • PIN Error Limit
    • When the number of consecutive incorrect PIN attempts reaches the set value, the device may wipe data according to the "Restore" settings.
  • PIN Masking
    • Example: If the PIN is 123, entering 41235 (which contains the correct consecutive digits) can also unlock.
  • PIN Scramble
    • Randomly shuffle the on-screen PIN keypad.
  • Hide Password
    • In entry details, passwords will be displayed as ******.

Restore

  • Factory Reset

    • Click and confirm to start factory reset. The device will restart automatically. Do not operate during the process.
  • Wipe Cards Simultaneously

    • When enabled, factory reset will also wipe all OpenPGP, PIV, and FIDO related keys and data.
  • Format USB Simultaneously

    • When enabled, factory reset will also format the USB partition.
